Holiday Magic Meets Community Healing: Etienne Maurice

The holiday season is all about love, family, and togetherness—and this week on The LaDonna Raeh Show, we’re diving into a story that embodies all of these themes and more. I had the incredible honor of speaking with actor, director, and advocate Etienne Maurice, one of the stars of the highly anticipated holiday film, Mistletoe & Matrimony. The film premieres on Saturday, December 14th, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), and trust me, it’s one you won’t want to miss!

About Mistletoe & Matrimony

Imagine planning a spontaneous Christmas Eve wedding for your sister while facing the surprise return of your former fiancé. That’s the heartwarming and drama-filled premise of Mistletoe & Matrimony. This film captures the magic of the holiday season with a beautiful blend of romance, family, and personal growth. Etienne Maurice brings depth and charisma to his role, delivering a performance that is both engaging and unforgettable.

“I love how this movie captures the true essence of the holidays—love, forgiveness, and the power of family,” Etienne shared during our interview. “It’s the kind of story that resonates with everyone, no matter where you are in life.”

Etienne Maurice: Beyond the Screen

While Etienne shines as an actor in Mistletoe & Matrimony, his work off-screen is equally inspiring. As the founder of WalkGood LA, a nonprofit organization focused on healing and wellness, Etienne is dedicated to creating spaces for mental and physical health in underserved communities. Inspired by his personal journey as a gun violence survivor, he launched WalkGood LA in 2020 to foster resilience and provide support for Black and Brown communities.

“WalkGood LA is about creating moments of healing—through yoga, community events, and just being there for one another,” Etienne explained. “It’s a movement that reminds us we’re all in this together.”

Holiday Spirit Meets Advocacy

What struck me most about my conversation with Etienne was how closely his values align with the themes of Mistletoe & Matrimony. Both his character in the film and his work with WalkGood LA focus on love, transformation, and the importance of community. It’s clear that Etienne approaches every aspect of his life—whether acting, directing, or advocating—with the same passion and heart.

As we gear up for the holidays, Etienne’s work serves as a powerful reminder of what this season is truly about: giving back, supporting one another, and cherishing the connections that matter most.
